Ten Must Have Free Nokia Applications - OVI

Lets take a look at 10 must have applications for Nokia cell phones available via the OVI store.You can download these applications directory from your phone or send them to your phone using the website. Only Free applications are listed here and most are available for all Symbian models.

1) Facebook for Nokia

Lets be honest, the web based version of Facebook is reasonable but it is not the most user friendly way to get your daily facebook fix. Thankfully Facebook has an official client for most Nokia phones and the 5800 is no exception. The 5800 version allows you to update your status, upload pictures and search numbers. You can of course accept friends requests as well.

2) YouTube

No cell phone is complete without a youtube application to keep you entertained while waiting around. Youtube has an official client available for the Nokia 5800 and supports favorites, play lists and subscriptions. Remember to keep an eye on your bandwidth usage while using Youtube on metered Internet plans.

3) Tweets60

Unfortunately there is no official twitter application for Nokia at this stage however Tweets60 is an excelent Twitter client for Nokia phones. The free version is good enough for basic access and you will only need to consider the paid version if you would like to upload pictures to picture from your nokia cell phone.

4) Opera Mobile 10 / Mini

Everybody needs a good web browser if they want to get the most out of their phones, Opera has long dominated the mobile browser market and has been bundled with several Nokia phones over the years.

5) Skype

If you are looking for a way to reduce you cell phone bill you should download the official Skype client for Nokia and get chatting, it supports all the important features of Skype and brings free Skype calls to your mobile phone. You will also be able to save some money if you make a lot of international calls. I would suggest 3G or Wifi to get the best experience.

6) eBuddy

Nokia devices have historically gimped Instant Messaging but one again eBuddy comes to the rescue providing a fantastic instant messenger for Nokia with support for MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM and more.It also brings a Nokia Myspace client to sweeten the deal.

7) Shazam

Shazam is a fun application which has the ability to identify any song being played, simply hold it near the radio or tv and it will record a sample of the track and automatically match it to a database and display the name of the track currently playing. The days of trying to figure out what your new favorite song is called are over.

Free Navigation for your Nokia, you will need to make sure your phone is up to date and you would probably save a lot of money if you did the installation over WIFI

9) Upcode

If you have never played around with a bar code scanner on your cell phone you are missing out on a great opportunity to have some fun while showing off your phone. Upcode can read most common bar codes including QR codes.

10) Weather Touch

Weather applications have become a standard feature on all cell phones and Weather Touch is a great way to add weather information if you phone does not come with a pre installed application. Weather Touch is designed for Touch Devices.
